Fair Wisconsin PAC is pleased to announce our endorsement of State Representative Mark Pocan for Wisconsin’s 2nd District in the United States House of Representatives.  Fair Wisconsin PAC is committed to advancing and achieving equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Wisconsinites through strategic electoral activity.

“On behalf of the Fair Wisconsin PAC Committee, we are very pleased to support a candidate like Mark Pocan, ensuring strong pro-fairness representation, and maintaining a seat at the table for the LGBT community,” said Dick Wagner, Fair Wisconsin Inc. board member and PAC Committee member, and one of the first out elected officials in the country in the early 1980’s.  “Representative Pocan has been fighting for LGBT equality along with Fair Wisconsin since the very beginning, and we are confident he will continue to do so in Washington.”

In addition to Rep. Pocan, both State Rep. Kelda Helen Roys and Dane County Treasurer Dave Worzala participated in the Fair Wisconsin PAC endorsement process and have demonstrated a strong commitment to equality for all Wisconsinites, receiving a 100% score on the questionnaire.  “I believe we have hit an historic turning point in the movement for LGBT equality when we have so many pro-fairness candidates to consider in determining who will be the strongest leader for the LGBT community,” said Katie Belanger, Executive Director of Fair Wisconsin PAC.

###

Fair Wisconsin PAC is the only statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) political action committee in Wisconsin.  Fair Wisconsin PAC works to elect pro-fairness individuals in Wisconsin through endorsements of specific candidates, financial support and independent expenditure activity.  By ensuring pro-fairness individuals occupy seats at all levels of government, we are able to focus our educational and advocacy efforts with elected officials on how, not whether, to continue working towards equality in Wisconsin.
