Fair Wisconsin PAC is pleased to announce our endorsement of Mayor Timothy Hanna for re-election as Mayor of Appleton.  Fair Wisconsin PAC is committed to advancing and achieving equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Wisconsinites through strategic electoral activity.

“Mayor Hanna has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community as Mayor of Appleton.  From supporting the City Diversity Coordinator position to his leadership in expanding employee benefit packages to include equal provisions for gay and lesbian employees, Mayor Hanna has been a tremendous ally,” stated Fair Wisconsin Executive Director Katie Belanger.  “Mayor Hanna has a true vision for building a more inclusive and welcoming Appleton for all members of the community and we look forward to supporting his efforts to remain a strong voice for Appleton’s future.”

Under Mayor Hanna’s leadership, the City of Appleton last fall joined a growing number of employers who grant their employees domestic partner benefits, including the State of Wisconsin, both the City and County of Milwaukee and Marquette University, as well as top Wisconsin private sector employers like Kimberly-Clark, Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin, Aurora Health Care and MillerCoors.

###

Fair Wisconsin PAC is the only statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) political action committee in Wisconsin. Fair Wisconsin PAC works to elect pro-fairness individuals in Wisconsin through endorsements of specific candidates, financial support and independent expenditure activity. By ensuring pro-fairness individuals occupy seats at all levels of government, we are able to focus our educational and advocacy efforts with elected officials on how, not whether, to continue working towards equality in Wisconsin.
