StageQ, Inc, Madison’s LGBT theater company, announces its third annual festival of short plays. Queer Shorts 3 will play two weekends only, June 12 - 21, at the Bartell Theatre, 113 E Mifflin St. Madison, WI.
With a theme of “All We Need is Love”, Queer Shorts 3 will present 11 one-act plays with a variety of perspectives on love, from cynical to wry to romantic, most of them funny. Almost 300 short plays were submitted and the final production will sure to make you laugh and bring the occasional tear to your eye.
With plays submitted from all over North America, Queer Shorts 3 brings together works by David Almeida & Stephen J. Miller, Andrew Black, Marc Castle, Alex Dremann, Michele Forsten, Allison Fradkin, Lyralen Kaye, Tom W. Kelly Shareen Knight and Carol Mullen.
The directors are Scott Albert Bennett, Rick Burkhardt, Katy Conley, Jesse Fey, Kristin Forde, Sean Langenecker, Jennifer Neuls, Steve Noll, Jeff Rabe, Ginger Swart and Molly Vanderlin.
The actors are Mark Albright, Amanda Bell, Scott Albert Bennett, Beth Brandt, Susan Carnell, Petrovnia Charles, Katy Conley, Leonie Dolch, Luke Erickson, Kristin Forde, Ana Gundlach, Nathan Figueroa, Nick Kaprelian, Shaina Langlois, Ray Olderman, Paula Orton, Dan Ross, Patrick Stallsmith, Louise Stout, Josh Swalheim, Bob Sylvester, Molly Vanderlin, Erik Weinke and Mario White.
Queer Shorts 3 will play June 12 - 21 at the Bartell Theater. Thursday’s performances are at 7:30pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm. There is a Sunday matinee at 2:00 pm on June 15.
