Today, The Lavender Salon has over 40 members from Oshkosh to Sturgeon Bay, from Manitowoc to Waupaca. We read and watch a wide variety of books & films on gay themes. After a common meal, we discuss the month's book or watch the selected film, and then hold a discussion (time allowing). We provide a welcoming environment in which to hold discussions on a wide variety of topics. Members come from a wide range of ages, educational and economic backgrounds.

The Lavender Salon offers an opportunity to explore what it means and meant to be gay through books (both literature & nonfiction), and film.

Since 1983, MSR has provided a forum for men who are interested in ending violence in their community and in their own lives. We provide workshops and trainings on sexual assault, dating violence, masculinity, homophobia, and rape culture. Our perspective is that since men statistically have perpetrated the vast number of acts of violence in our culture, they must be involved in its eradication. It is not male identity, but rather a set of mythologies about what masculine identity is or should be, that leads to violent behavior; this can be un-learned, and together we can shape a new, loving masculinity.

Madison Gay Softball grew out of the desire to provide the Madison Gay Community with an opportunity to participate in, and grow an appreciation for, the game of softball.  What has developed has far exceeded our expectations.  Madison Gay Softball has evolved into an institution that has revitalized the Gay Community and enriched the lives of our members, both players and non-players, gay and straight.
From our humble beginnings as a single team in 2002 (with a 0-15 record) to an 11 Team Recreational League, 5 Competitive Women’s Teams, 1 Competitive Co-Ed Team that plays in Milwaukee's league, and 2 Competitive Men’s Teams in 2007, Gay Softball in Madison has proven its ability to survive, grow, and develop our community into a family.

Truth is One; it cannot be otherwise. Therefore the Sufi finds the light and love of the Divine Spirit of Guidance hidden in all names and forms.

UNIDOS was started in 1996 as a group of volunteers committed to helping Latina survivors of domestic violence access local services. The organization started as a result of social action research conducted with migrant farm worker communities in central WI between 1994 and 1996. This early research indicated that, although domestic violence (DV) was a serious problem within the Latino migrant and immigrant community, local DV services did not have the resources to work with this group of abused women. Staff from local agencies needed assistance to learn about Latino culture and how the problem of domestic violence was uniquely experienced by our community. To that end, UNIDOS has become a leader around the state as a resource for training and technical assistance to a variety of agencies around the state working with abused Latinas. Since 2006, in areas where local DV service providers cannot meet the needs of Latina survivors due to a shortage of staff or other resources, UNIDOS Outreach Advocates now offer direct services to help survivors obtain restraining orders, other health and social services, and offer support.
